MidAmerica Health Screening at Advocate Trinity Hospital. Summer 2007
MidAmerica Cardiovascular Consultants participated in a health fair at
Advocate Trinity Hospital. Besides the blood pressure and cholesterol
testing we performed, other testing was available at the other booths such
as pulmonary function testing, glucose testing, body mass index
calculations, and much more. Heart healthy advice and handouts were given to
patients for managing their high blood pressure, sugar levels, exercise and
diet routines, and smoking cessation.
We would like to welcome Dr Ricardo Vicuna to our MidAmerica staff.
Dr. Vicuna joined MidAmerica Cardiovascular Consultants in April 2007 as the
22nd physician on staff. He says"I am glad to join a great group of people.
This practice allows us to collaborate, which is beneficial for patients.
The services offered from our practice include all aspects of cardiology
care such as interventional cardiology, nuclear imaging, electrophysiology,
and more."
Dr. Vicuna says he went into cardiology because coronary diseases were and
still are taking the lives of so many people and he wanted to make a
difference. His objective is to maintain a conscientious and responsible
practice of medicine with the highest concern for patient care on an
individual and community level.
His biggest advice on remaining heart-healthy is "maintain a healthy
lifestyle which includes diet, exercise, and not smoking, which could help
in the prevention of diseases." He also adds that some genetic heart disease
risk factors can't be controlled, but is confident in the care and treatment
options he offers to patients.
The Physicians and Staff of MidAmerica Cardiovascular Consultants are proud
to announce the construction of thier new medical building located at 107th
and Cicero Avenue. We will be opening December 2007. Click here to see photos.
